Members of the University of Regensburg can order books via interlibrary loan using the Regensburg Catalogue plus. As soon as the ordered interlibrary loan book has been booked in your library account, you can pick it up at the contact-free lending section in the Central Library.

Outside opening hours books can also be returned at the automatic pick up and return station close to the textbook collection. Books borrowed from the reading rooms can be returned during opening hours either in the respective reading room or also in the contact-free lending area in the Central Library.
If possible, you can renew your borrowed media via the Regensburg Catalogue plus (renewal is not possible for reading room books).
If renewal is no longer possible, please return the books or send them by mail.
You can make reservations for books from the stacks or the textbook collection via the Regensburg Catalogue plus. You will be informed by e-mail as soon as the reserved item is ready for you.
If another user has made a reservation for one of the items you have borrowed, you will receive an e-mail. In this case, please return the book as soon as possible.
You are welcome to return borrowed books to the UB by mail.

Please note that you have to be logged into the university network via VPN to use e-media or e-books that are subject to a charge. To use library services please use the profile "VPN UR home" via the FortiClient.

Please note: This service is aimed exclusively at students who, for health reasons, are currently unable to visit the reading rooms to use the reading stations or borrow books due to the risk of infection with the corona virus.
For students from risk groups, books (maximum of five books from the reading rooms) can be taken out of the reading rooms by University Library staff and made available centrally on a specially set up shelf at the entrance of the contact-free lending area in the Central Library.
It is also possible to deposit books in the pick up and return station, which is accessible throughout the entire opening hours of the building.
Affected students from risk groups are asked to send an e-mail to ausleihe.ub@ur.de and indicate which books (please include the shelf mark) are needed from the reading rooms and where we should deposit them.

Please note: in order to use the University Library, external users (= all users, except staff and students of the University of Regensburg) need a valid library card. Of course, this can also be a valid libary card of the OTH Library or the State Library.

Interlibrary loan is available to external users without restrictions. Orders can be picked up at the contact-free lending area at the Central Library between 10:00 and 18:00. As soon as the books and copies are ready for pick-up, we will inform you by e-mail. Therefore, we kindly ask you only to come to the contact-free lending area as soon as you have received a notification via e-mail.
There is a four-week loan period for books borrowed from the stacks and the textbook collection.
If you have stored an email address in your library account, you will receive a reminder email from us advising you of the loan period end date. Regardless, please check your library account information regularly.
