Born February 2, 1972, in Augsburg

Attended the Humanistisches Gymnasium bei St. Anna, Augsburg, 1982–1991

Studied conducting at the Richard Strauss Conservatory, Munich, 1991–1993

Studied English Linguistics, Romance Linguistics and Comparative Indoeuropean Linguistics at the University of Augsburg, 1994–1998

Received his PhD from the University of Augsburg with a thesis on 'Old English swa: Syntax and semantics of a polyfunctional particle', supervised by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Obst, 2002

Florian Schleburg is the President of the international Karl-May-Gesellschaft  and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Karl-May-Stiftung (Radebeul). He holds a Dan degree in Musō Jikiden Eishin Ryū Iaidō.
